Our Jammers class (toddlers/preschool 14-36 months) adds storytelling, linking songs & rhymes into an animal adventure with puppets, toys, marching, jumping & circle songs, masks, dancing rings, stars, parachute, bubbles & much more! Parents are encouraged to join their little ones on the adventure, singing along & taking part in the actions. Your instructor provides occasional accompaniment on ukulele & percussion. Each class lasts 40 mins.
After our 'hello' & warm up songs your little ones sing & move as they paint a magic rainbow, bake a cake with shaky eggs or play hide 'n' seek with the bean bag bugs, or maybe zoom into space, walk through the jungle, visit the farm, go on a bear hunt or stomp with dinosaurs, then swim with the fish in the parachute ocean!
There are lots of colourful props & instruments to enhance movement & musical skills, teach basic pulse, tempo and dynamics and encourage social skills & participation, including choosing and putting away. Many songs include counting, names of colours, animals, the weather and other day-to-day words, to help develop your toddler or preschool child's numeracy & language skills and understanding of the world.
Our Jammers classes are influenced by the world-renowned Kodaly Approach (establishing musicality through the voice) & Dalcroze Eurythmics (musicality & rhythm through body movement) and include a mixture of traditional nursery rhymes, children's songs & original songs by J&J founder Vici Hoban Read.
Please note: your little one(s) MUST BE WALKING INDEPENDENTLY to attend Jammers. 14+ month old babies who are not yet walking are welcome at Jigglers instead.
"We have thoroughly enjoyed Jiggle & Jam so far and I think it has done wonders for Arabella's development; her love of music and movement, her confidence, socialisation and above all sheer enjoyment!" - Henrietta, mum to Arabella
"The girls really enjoy the class and excitedly talk about it the night before, telling me that we will see the giraffe, the monkey, the elephant, stars and fish! Too cute. They also do all the actions at home and sing the songs all day long." - Anke, mum to Rowan & Willow
